Lecturer explains about cat’s whisker. The cat’s whisker is specialized on sensory receptors. Cats generally have whisker on its face, like cheek, chin, lip. And whisker has three time longer length under cat’s skin. With rich supply of blood vessel and dense network of nerves cat can feel everything. So the cat detects any touch of close obstacle, even if in dim light or dark night. Without seeing anything, twelve whiskers helps cat to feel object.

According to the reading passage sensory receptors are structures that detect changes in an animals internal or external environment. The Lecturer discusses a cat’s whisker as an example of a highly specialized sensory receptor. Cats generally have whiskers on their face, cheek, chin, or lips. One of the attributes of a cat's whisker that makes it so special is that it is three times deeper in the cats skin than are other, regular hairs on the animal's body. Due to the rich supply of blood vessels and dense network of nerves, a cat can more easily detect objects in the surrounding environment . Thus, the cat can detect the touch of close obstacles, even if in dim light or in the dark of night. Without seeing anything, twelve whiskers helps cat to feel objects.
